The End of the Year Jawn is just around the corner! The Block Gives Back is excited to partner up with Safehub once again to make this possible at the Maken North Building. It wouldn’t be the same experience without Scanlon Rec joining in to offer some amazing activities in their space, too!

We are beyond excited to see what this year has in store for us alongside amaizng community partners. The Block Gives Back is prepared to serve at least 500 individuals and families with a warm meal, hygiene and winter necessities, and more!

Join The Block Gives Back for Feed The Block on November 4th, 2023! The menu for this event is meatball subs. Volunteers are welcome to join at 1 PM to help prepare, and the food/ groceries will be given out at 3 PM.

Join us for a safe and fun Halloween celebration, the continuation of one of our favorite events: Blockoween! Taking place October 28th at Oak Street Health in Aramingo will be a trunk or treat, carnival stryle games, refreshments, crafts, prizes, and more! Tell a friend to tell a friend, all are welcomed to join!

Blocky’s Fall Ball Fundraiser will be taking place at River Fields on October 7th! Get a team together for the opportunity to compete for prize money! All profits from the event will support our annual End of the Year Jawn taking place in December. Bring the family to watch the games, or take part in activities alongside them! Join us August 12th as we celebrate the community after a morning of cleaning the park! Come join the park cleaning, get a head start on your volunteer hours for the school year, and then enjoy an amazing community picnic amongst community leaders!

Join us for our annual PEACE AND PLAY DAY! This is one of our favorite events at The Block Gives Back. Every July, we focus our efforts on our antiviolence initiative inviting partners and community members to join us for a day of peace. This year we will be hosting in partnership with City Wide Menthal Health Services and the L.O.T. Crew as they host their annual basketball tournament.

Join The Block Gives Back on our Love Thy Park Tour! We are headed to Tarken Rec for a good cleaning in preparation for our Peace and Play Day taking place the following Saturday!

Volunteer roles include cleaning up trash and debris from the park, painting benches, giving out refreshments, and more! We hope to see you there!

We had to reschedule our End of the Month Jawn with Hopeworks! The Block Givse Back is usually rain or shine, but our partners and host recommended rescheduling as the area we were designated too got a lot of rain that stayed.
